OxTALENT meets BAFTA

Anthony Geffen, winner of this year’s BAFTA  for ‘Specialist Factual’  and fellow of St Cross College, will speak  our OxTALENT awards event  on 28th June about his career  in digital media, from student of Geography to CEO of Atlantic Productions.

The number of  Oxford podcasts published into iTunesU continues to grow each month.   If you are wondering, as we do,  who is listening to them, it is possible to use the data supplied by Apple and the size of our logfiles to see  the  global spread of downloads.

Uptake of e-learning

Dr Jill Fresen’s paper presented at the LAMS conference (July 2010) and the EDEN conference (Budapest, Oct 2010) has been published in a special edition of the Teaching English with Technology Journal and will appear in the next LAMS book edited by James Dalziel et al.

If a course is not currently scheduled, you can use the link and you will be notified when the course becomes available. It also enables us to gauge what demand there is for a particular course.

Road trip

The RunCoCo team from  LTG are travelling to Germany to help run digitisation roadshows in 4 cities for the German National Library and Europeana . Digital media

The  recent Digital Media User Group event  hosted by LTG showcased work from the Pitt Rivers Museum combining archive anthropological footage taken early last century and objects in the museum. Using high res still photography, the objects are captured to archive standard. The films can be tailored to multiple audiences and purposes – from tv documentary purposes to specialist teaching support.
