Themes could include digital text, linguistics technology, imaging and visualization, linked data,
open access, geographic analysis, serious gaming and any other digital or quantitative methods. While we welcome high-quality application papers discussing individual projects, the series also hopes to accommodate broader theoretical consideration of the use of digital technology in Classical studies. The content should be of interest both to classicists, ancient historians or archaeologists, and to information
scientists or digital humanists, and have an academic research agenda relevant to at least one of those fields.

Their ‘Social Science and Digital Research: Interdisciplinary Insights’  event  will be held on 12 March 2012 in Oxford. If you wish to submit an abstract (around 250 words), please send it to events@oii.ox.ac.uk by 15 December with ‘Interdisciplinary Insights’ in the subject field. What Next for the ‘Edgeless University’

This half-day workshop explores the practical opportunities and problems confronting academics and institutions of higher learning in light of the 2009 DEMOS report ‘The Edgeless University’. The focus for the workshop is to ask: what exactly should a modern comprehensive university do that will unleash the creativity of students and staff and maximise the potential of distributed, edgeless learning while, at the same time, also making the most of the physical spaces which will remain critical markers of ‘a university’?
